“Healing begins in the quiet moments you choose yourself. Come in, take a breath, and let the world soften.”
Body’s aren’t one size fits all. Neither are our sessions. You never have to choose just one type of session at Luna & Soul. Your skilled therapist will blend therapeutic modalities and techniques to create a session that is intuitively led, deeply nurturing, and blissfully restorative. And the best part? It’s always tailored just for you and what your body needs on the day of your appointment. This is self-care that goes beneath the surface- a return to balance, ease, and embodiment.

What type of massage is right for you?
-
If Swedish Massage had a tagline, it would be: "Exhale... and just be." This is the classic, quintessential massage experience designed to melt you into the table. It’s less about "fixing" a specific problem and more about giving your entire system a much-needed hug.
Using long, gliding strokes and a rhythmic flow, this session is all about slowing down the world outside. It’s the ultimate treat for when your brain has too many tabs open and your body just needs to remember what "calm" feels like.
Promotes stress relief stress, melts away tension, and invites deep relaxation. Ideal for ongoing wellness, emotional regulation, and nervous system support.
-
If Swedish massage is a gentle hug, Deep Tissue is that friend who gives you the "real talk" you actually needed to hear. It’s for those times when your muscles feel less like soft tissue and more like a bundle of angry rubber bands.
We aren't just skimming the surface here; we’re diving deep into the layers of muscle and fascia to find those stubborn, long-term "residents" (you know—the knots that have basically paid rent in your shoulders for three years). It’s slow, deliberate, and incredibly satisfying.
Some key benefits include: unravel chronic tension, support injury recovery, and restore balanced movement. Ideal for those seeking relief from persistent tightness, overuse, or stress held deep within the body- inviting strength, ease, and flow back into your system.
-
Advanced Deep Tissue Massage is a specialized therapeutic technique that goes beyond traditional massage to target the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue (fascia). Unlike a standard relaxation massage, this approach uses slower, more deliberate strokes and intense, focused pressure to address chronic patterns of tension and specific musculoskeletal issues. Some of the key benefits include chronic pain relief, improved mobility, injury recovery, posture correction, and stress/tension relief.
-
Imagine your body is wearing a form-fitting, 3D knitted bodysuit underneath your skin. That’s your fascia—a web of connective tissue that wraps around every muscle, bone, and organ. When you’re stressed or injured, that bodysuit gets tight, bunched up, and restricted.
Myofascial Release isn't about kneading the muscles like dough; it’s about applying gentle, sustained pressure to "melt" the restrictions in that bodysuit. It’s a slow-motion technique that waits for your body to give the "okay" to let go.
Through slow, sustained pressure and mindful stretching, this session helps release stuck fascia, find the hidden root causes of pain, hydrate your insides, and regulate your nervous system.
-
Think of Neuromuscular Therapy as a specialized "reset button" for the communication lines between your brain and your muscles. Sometimes, due to stress or old injuries, your nervous system keeps your muscles on a "high-alert" setting, causing them to stay tight, angry, and painful.
NMT uses focused, steady pressure to find the exact "glitch" in the system—those stubborn knots known as trigger points. By leaning into these spots, we're basically telling your nervous system, "Hey, it’s okay to let go now."
Some of the benefits of this type of massage includes: evicting the “pain ghosts”, nerve breathing room, and releasing tight muscles.
-
Think of your lymphatic system as your body’s internal cleaning crew and sewage system all in one. It’s responsible for hauling away cellular waste, extra fluid, and "junk" to keep your immune system in fighting shape. But unlike your heart, this system doesn't have a pump—it relies on movement to stay flowing.
Lymphatic Drainage is a super-gentle, rhythmic treatment that acts like a "manual pump" to get that fluid moving. It’s not about muscle work; it’s about a light-as-a-feather touch that directs the traffic of your internal fluids to the right exit points.
Benefits include supporting detoxification, reduce swelling, and boost circulation. I usually pair this with Myofascial Release in order to maximize benefits. Beneficial for wellness, post-op recovery, postpartum healing, after illness, or just when you feel that bloated and heavy feeling. This is also excellent for clients dealing with inflammation.
-
Think of Sports Massage as a "pit stop" for your body. Whether you’re training for a marathon, a weekend warrior on the pickleball court, or just trying to survive a particularly intense gardening session, this is the tune-up that keeps your "engine" running smoothly.
It’s a mix-and-match style that uses fast-paced strokes to wake up your muscles, combined with deep work and stretching to keep things limber. We aren't just looking for relaxation here; we’re looking for performance.
-
Think of this as the ultimate "nurture the nurturer" session. Your body is doing the absolute most right now—literally building a human or recovering from the marathon of bringing one into the world. Prenatal and Postpartum Massageisn’t just a luxury; it’s a vital timeout for your hardworking nervous system and a chance to get reacquainted with a body that’s changing by the day.
We use specialized cushioning (hello, side-lying comfort!) and a gentle, trauma-informed touch to make sure you feel completely supported, safe, and seen.
Some key benefits include: ease discomfort, reduce swelling, calm the nervous system, increase circulation, and foster connection during pregnancy and after birth.
-
If your nervous system had a "master volume" knob, Craniosacral Therapy would be the gentle hand that turns it down from a 10 to a peaceful 2. This isn’t a traditional "muscle-kneading" massage; it’s a whisper-light, non-invasive touch that focuses on the bones of your head (cranium), your spine, and your tailbone (sacrum).
We’re working with the rhythmic flow of the fluid that surrounds your brain and spinal cord. It’s deeply intuitive work that helps clear the "static" out of your internal wiring so your body can finally hear its own blueprint for healing.
Key benefits include nervous system reset, relieves headaches and migraines, release stored energy, TMJ jaw relief, and increase inner stillness.
-
Think of this as a regular hot stone massage, but with a serious upgrade from Mother Nature. Instead of basic river stones, we use hand-carved Himalayan Salt Stones that glow with a warm, peachy hue.
It’s like getting a massage with a giant, warm crystal. These stones don’t just hold heat beautifully; they are packed with 84 essential minerals that your skin absolutely drinks up. It’s a sensory experience that feels like a warm hug from the earth itself.
These stones promote natural detoxification, de-stress on a cellular level, exfoliates the skin, and warms the muscles (giving a boost to deeper work).
-
If most massage is about pushing tension out, cupping is the "magic trick" of pulling it out. Using specialized silicone or glass cups, we create a gentle vacuum that lifts your skin and muscle layers upward.
Think of it like a deep tissue massage in reverse. Instead of pressing down on a knot, we’re creating space between the layers of your tissue so everything can finally breathe and move again. It’s a strange sensation at first, but the relief afterward is the stuff of legends.
This deeply healing therapy uses gentle suction to release tension, improve circulation, and restore energetic flow throughout the body. This ancient technique melts away stagnation, promotes detoxification, and invites balance back into tired, tense muscles - leaving you feeling lighter, freer, and deeply renewed.
-
If your muscles feel like they’ve been "shrink-wrapped" in a layer of tension, Body Gua Sha is here to help you break free. This ancient technique uses a smooth-edged tool (usually made of beautiful jade or bian stone) to gently stroke the skin.
It’s like using a specialized "sculpting" tool for your body. By using purposeful, rhythmic strokes, we’re smoothing out the rough patches in your connective tissue and encouraging your body to let go of long-held tightness.
Key benefits include: melt muscle tension, revive circulation, leave your skin with a luminous & healthy glow., supports detoxification, eases stagnation, and restores flow from head to toe. Perfect when you’re craving deeper release & radiant skin.

“We decided to get a massage a few days before our wedding and Luna & Soul was the perfect choice. Our therapists were welcoming, intuitive, calming, and our session felt tailored to us for real. We walked in stressed and walked out feeling grounded, restored, and just peaceful. This is exactly what we needed to be ready for our big day.

Common questions about massage:
-
While you are never required to disclose information you aren’t comfortable with, giving your therapist this information can help them tailor your session in ways that’s safest for you. We especially need to know about recent injuries, surgeries, and current medications as certain types of massage may be contraindicated.
-
While standard massage focuses on physical relaxation, a trauma-informed approach prioritizes your sense of safety. I use slow-tempo work and clear communication to help your nervous system move out of "fight-or-flight" and into a state of restorative rest. Every session is built on collaborative consent and predictable transitions to ensure you feel safe, empowered, and in control of your healing process.
-
No you never have to disclose any information of this sort. The Luna & Soul way is to always use a trauma-informed approach because we understand that trauma is often stored in the muscles of the body and nervous system regulation helps to release it. This allows for physical changes in muscle tissue of clients experience pain and tension relieve. We are not psychologists though so we will never ask you about traumas you may have experienced.
-
Everyone is different. Factors such as daily activity level, health status, and lifestyle make a difference. Most commonly, clients come every other week, but that doesn’t work for everyone. Your therapist can discuss this with you at your session and tailor a schedule that works best for your specific needs.
-
This is your time to rest, relax, and receive care. You can talk, be silent, or even fall asleep during your session. Your therapist will follow your lead so that you can be completely comfortable.
-
Sometimes you need to ask questions specific to you. That’s perfectly fine! Please text or call 612-471-3593. We’ll respond as soon as we can.
-
You can read the descriptions of each modality above to get an idea of what may align best with your needs. Often times more than one will sound right for you and that’s ok. On the day of your session, your therapist will do an intake with you and help you determine what modalities and techniques will be best for you during that session. If you have questions prior to your session, you’re welcome to text or call Lishia at 612-471-3593.
-
Think ease and comfort. If possible, comfortable clothing that allows you to change easily is best.
-
There is really no hard or fast rule for this. It is truly about YOUR comfort. Some clients choose to leave their underwear on and that’s totally fine! You’re always draped in a professional manner and only the body part being massaged will be uncovered.
-
Welcome to Luna & Soul! Your therapist will greet you and guide you into your treatment room where you will do an intake. This is where you and your therapist will agree on a treatment plan for that session and this time can include a moment of centering and grounding. When you’re ready, your therapist will step out and allow you time to undress and get under the blanket and top sheet on the treatment table. They will knock before re-entering the room to ensure you’re ready. Your session can begin at this time.
-
Hydration is key so drink plenty of water before (and after) your session. Your muscles are more pliable and the benefits of the massage are felt more deeply this way.
Avoid caffeine and alcohol on the day of your session. This isn’t a rule, but it does make the experience more pleasant for you.
Avoid heavy meals immediately before your session. A light meal 1-2 hours prior is best.Taking a warm shower before your massage can help warm your muscles. This can be especially helpful when receiving deeper work.
Arrive 10-15 minutes early. This will give you time for parking, getting into the building, and starting your intake.
-
My number one piece of advice is to stay hydrated! During muscle manipulation, adhesions and tense points will have been worked. This can cause soreness much like you’d experience after a workout. Staying hydrated can help relieve that and allow you to experience the full benefits of your massage!
Move your body in supportive ways. Light stretching, easy yoga, and walking are great ways to keep your muscles loose. This is the best way to maximize the mobility benefits of your session!
I always recommend soaking in an epsom salt bath if possible. A hot shower works nicely as well. And get a good nights sleep. Your body will be primed for the renewal of deep rest.
Avoiding caffeine, alcohol and intense activity is best. Caffeine and alcohol deplete hydration, which is the opposite of what your muscles need after a massage. You’ll also have a higher chance of hurting yourself during an intense workout after a massage because your muscles and ligaments are loose and unable to best support your joints. Give yourself 24 hours.
